Finding Healthy with Stacy

Little Wins

This isn’t a before-and-after story. It’s a still-going story — and that’s the whole point.

I lost 66 pounds once. Then life happened — stress, kids, seasons that weren’t kind — and I gained some of it back. Now I’m starting again, and this time I’m doing it differently. No perfect plan. No all-or-nothing rules. Just honest, small steps and the belief that little choices still count.

What a Little Win Looks Like

A little win isn’t finishing a 30-day program or hitting a goal weight. It’s the small stuff that actually adds up:

  • Choosing water instead of soda at lunch
  • Going for a 10-minute walk even when you didn’t feel like it
  • Eating a real breakfast instead of nothing
  • Skipping the drive-through when you were exhausted and proud of it
  • Getting back on track after a hard week — not waiting until Monday
  • Drinking your vitamins two days in a row
  • Saying no to something that wasn’t worth it

That’s it. That’s the whole thing. Those moments are the journey.

Getting Back on Track (Without Starting Over)

I used to think a bad day meant I had to start over. That one off-plan meal erased everything. It doesn’t. Here’s what actually helps me get back on track without the shame spiral:

  • Don’t wait for Monday — start with the next meal
  • Drink a big glass of water and just keep going
  • Remind yourself that consistency over time matters more than perfection in a day
  • Go back to the basics: protein, veggies, water, sleep
  • Be as kind to yourself as you’d be to a friend in the same spot

You didn’t fail. You just had a hard day. Try again tomorrow — or right now.

Progress Beyond the Scale

The number on the scale is one data point. It doesn’t tell the whole story. Here are some wins that matter just as much — maybe more:

  • More energy in the afternoon (finally)
  • Clothes that fit differently — even if the number hasn’t moved
  • Less bloating and feeling lighter day to day
  • Sleeping better and actually waking up rested
  • Craving less junk and actually wanting the salad sometimes
  • Feeling more like yourself again
  • Not talking yourself out of things because of how you feel in your body

Those changes are real. They count. Write them down if you have to.

You’re Already Doing It

If you’re here reading this, you’re already in it. You’re thinking about it, trying, showing up — and that matters more than you think. Health isn’t a destination you arrive at and then stay. It’s something you come back to, over and over, in small quiet ways.

I’m right there with you. Some weeks are better than others. Some days I eat the fries and skip the walk. And then the next day I try again — because that’s how this actually works.

Little choices still count. Always.
